Tutors choose a listing tier that matches how visible they want to be. Free is enough to be found. Paid tiers unlock the verified badge and priority placement. Booking fees are separate — see below.

Advertising slots
Promoted placement is limited — and time-boxed
Featured-tier tutors can book a promoted slot. Slots are deliberately scarce — a fixed number per placement — so a promoted listing actually stands out. Book by the week, month or quarter; the longer you book, the lower the price per period. When a placement is full you join a waitlist and take the next slot that frees up, with Featured tutors first in the queue.

Prices are indicative and shown per period. Manage slots from your advert page in the dashboard once you're on the Featured tier. School slots are only bookable for schools you prepare pupils for.
How booking fees work
A small fee when a parent books through us
Parents who book and pay through TinyOak send the money to your Stripe account directly. TinyOak retains a 10% platform fee from each booking. That fee funds the booking system, the safeguarding record, the parent portal, and the cost of keeping the directory trustworthy.
You can list at the free Basic tier and still accept bookings — the listing subscription pays for visibility; the booking fee pays for the transaction infrastructure. They are independent.
Common questions
Do I have to accept bookings through TinyOak?
No. Many tutors use the directory as an introduction channel and arrange payment directly with the parent. The booking system is available if you want the platform to handle scheduling and safeguarding for that family.
When do I get the Verified badge?
Verification has three parts: (1) you upload identity, qualifications and a DBS reference; (2) we review and approve; (3) you're on the Verified or Featured tier. The badge shows once all three are in place. Verification is not currently being processed for real tutors — we are completing the legal preparation first.
Can I change tier or cancel?
Yes. You can move between tiers any time from your billing area. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep the tier's features until then.
How does promoted placement work?
Featured-tier tutors can book a limited promoted slot — on the home page, the top of the directory, or a specific school's guide page (if you prepare pupils for that school). Slots are time-boxed by the week, month or quarter, with a better price the longer you book. If a placement is full you join a tier-priority waitlist. See the slots table above.
